PA Safety Inspection

Program Overview

Course includes: theory, vehicle (hands-on) inspection process and written exams. Must pass your specific exams and tactile to obtain certification. - 18 years of age and must hold a valid driver’s operator’s license for each class vehicle he/she intends to inspect. - Current textbook or inspection manual or downloaded copy from PennDOT before the first night of class. - Not Required, but prior knowledge of type of vehicle is a plus to obtain certification.

Categories Include:

  • Cat 1 – Light trucks and cars
  • Cat 2 – Motorcycle (need to have motorcycle license)
  • Cat 3 – Heavy trucks

$170 (Each additional category is $40)
The Academy offers a printed safety inspection manual for an additional $10. The manual is required for the course, but it is not required to purchase from the school.
